With Diesel Made for Two, accomplished singer and talented multi-instrumentalist Chris Sprague comes into his own as a master of Truck Driving Music. Originally from Wichita Falls in western Texas, and now residing in Van Nuys, California, Chris Sprague has been a working musician for many years, as one half of the always popular Sprague Brothers, as drummer for Deke Dickerson and the Ecco-Fonics, and with his own band, the 18 Wheelers. Along with brother, Frank Lee Sprague, Chris has appeared on CBS nationwide television and National Public Radio, and has performed live around the world, including several successful tours of Japan. Chris Sprague is revered and coveted for his uncanny ability to step in and work effectively on the spur of the moment with a variety of roots music artists, from the rockabilly of the Collins Kids and Joe Clay, to the rhythm and blues of the Cadillacs and Clarence "Frogman" Henry, to classic Bakersfield-style Country.

One of Country Music's unique subgenres, Truck Driving Music fuses the 1960's era Bakersfield drive and twang of Buck Owens and Merle Haggard with the everyday concerns of hardworking people. Sprague recorded and produced Diesel Made for Two in Los Angeles, with an assist from fellow Sprague Brother Frank, who also played most of the lead guitar and sang harmony. Other musicians include Deke Dickerson and "Crazy" Joe Trischler on guitar, Mitch Polzak on banjo, Carl Sonny Leland on piano, and the amazing Dave Berzansky on steel guitar. As producer, Chris Sprague worked hard to achieve sparkling sound, both authentic and vibrant, making appropriate use of vintage guitars and amplifiers as well as his prized 1960's Ludwig drum kit with Black Beauty snare. Chris Sprague wrote the majority of the songs on Diesel Made for Two and also covers some of his all-time Truck Driving classics by such artists as Red Simpson, Jerry Reed, and Joe Stampley. Diesel Made for Two is the perfect album for fans that delight in music played with fervor and a pure Country heart.
